TV evangélica cancela humorístico sobre Jesus

A estréia de um programa de TV humorístico sobre a vida de Jesus Cristo foi suspensa por uma emissora evangélica da Holanda após gerar uma comoção entre os telespectadores.

A série Loopt een man over het water ('Um homem anda sobre as águas', em tradução livre) iria estrear no final de agosto na emissora EO, com a proposta de "lançar um diálogo aberto e franco sobre Jesus para acabar com preconceitos", nas palavras de seu idealizador, o apresentador Arie Boomsma.
Considerado um dos artistas mais bem pagos da televisão holandesa, Boomsma havia sido suspenso em março por três meses pela emissora evangélica por ter posado para uma revista gay.
Foram divulgados poucos detalhes sobre o conteúdo da atração, mas o primeiro convidado seria o humorista Guido Weijers, que apresentaria um quadro baseado no Evangelho de Marcos.
Nem o apresentador do programa, Arie Boomsma, nem o humorista Weijers são cristãos.
Polêmica
Mesmo antes de sua estreia, o programa gerou uma maré de protestos de telespectadores e parte da mídia holandesa. Muitos associados da emissora – que contribuem mensalmente com quantias que vão de um euro a cifras milionárias – cancelaram suas assinaturas.
Na última terça-feira, a EO anunciou formalmente o cancelamento da atração.
" Continuamos com o desejo de trazer as pessoas que não conhecem Deus para um diálogo, mas por causa da imagem já distorcida do programa vimos que não iríamos atingir este objetivo", disse à BBC Brasil o presidente da EO , Arian Lock. A emissora evangélica EO é conhecida por apresentar programas polêmicos, como um, intitulado 40 dias sem Sexo, que enfocava o celibato cristão.
Em outro episódio controvertido, o canal proibiu um de seus mais famosos apresentadores de desfilar no chamado "Barco Sagrado", durante o evento do orgulho gay que ocorreu em Amsterdã na semana passada.
Após o anúncio do cancelamento, o humorista Guido Weijers foi convidado por emissoras de rádio e de TV para mostrar o quadro que apresentaria no programa. Ele brincou com a atenção que passou a receber após o episódio.
"Só assim tive motivo para convocar uma entrevista coletiva na vida", disse.
Desde a suspensão da série, centenas de reações foram publicadas em diferentes sites holandeses. Alguns criticam a iniciativa do programa, sob o argumento de que "Jesus é assunto sério e não se admite o uso de seu nome em vão", nas palavras de um internauta.
"Não vi e nem quero ver esse programa e tenho raiva de quem o idealizou", disse outro.
Um terceiro reclama que "a qualquer hora se pode fazer piadas sobre qualquer outro tema". "O profeta Maomé é sempre alvo de gracinhas e Jesus passa batido. Me pergunto por quê", diz.
Mas há ainda os que se disseram "curiosos" para assistir ao programa: "E eu querendo ver uma coisa nova, sem o peso dos céus..."
